Restorative dentistry is used to keep the natural form and function of your existing teeth. By using a variety of procedures depending on your needs, our doctors can preserve your natural teeth. Whether you need a root canal to save a tooth, a new crown or bridge to replace missing or decayed teeth, or a dental implant to completely restore a tooth’s roots and crown—our Upper East Side dental practice has you covered.
CEREC® Same-Day Crowns
If you have a missing tooth or two or three consecutive missing teeth, then a dental bridge can be an aesthetic and convenient tooth replacement. Depending on your circumstance, Dr. Vaiman or Dr. Kessler will recommend either a fixed or removable bridge. Both provide years of service, restoring your ability to chew, speak and smile.
For the ultimate in tooth replacement there are dental implants. Other replacements substitute for only the crown of a missing tooth. A dental implant, however, also replaces the root of tooth, thereby providing greater stability and greater longevity. With good oral hygiene, a dental implant can last a lifetime.
Root Canal Therapy
There are several reasons why a tooth may be painful. If the pain is severe, then the likely cause is an infected tooth. In this case, a root canal is performed to remove the infection from the nerve of the tooth. Once completed, the tooth is covered with a dental crown for added strength and protection.
