Places to Visit Near Our Office
Located at 340 East 72nd between First and Second Avenues, our office is a short walk from the New York-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center. Doctors, students and staff are welcome, as are residents from all areas of the Upper East Side.
We know your time is valuable, so we make every effort to honor your appointment time and have you on your way, so you can enjoy the rest of your day on New York’s illustrious Upper East Side. Because of our central location, many of our patients build a day around their dental appointments. May we offer some suggestions?
Start out with a delicious breakfast or brunch at Sarabeth’s, which is at 92nd and Madison. Try the lemon and ricotta pancakes and any of their homemade baked goods. Get their early, though, because Sarabeth’s is always packed and they don’t take reservations. But don’t worry—the food is well worth the wait!
Then we suggest a museum stop. Drs. Vaiman and Kessler and their families love the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum at 89th and Fifth Avenue. Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, the spiral structure invites everyone to leisurely stroll around and around, viewing art that ranges from Impressionism to contemporary.
Now you’re across the street from New York’s famous Central Park. You’ll find that the northern end of the park is much more peaceful than the southern end, which is near The Pierre and Plaza Hotels. Take time to wind your way along any of the Park’s many paths, enjoying the natural beauty that lives in midst of the bustling city.
Time for lunch? Try Café Sabarsky, a traditional Viennese café located in Neue Galerie New York at 86th and Fifth. If you are familiar with the movie Woman in Gold and are a fan of the artist Gustav Klimt, here is where you’ll the famous portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer.
Of course, no day on the Upper East Side of New York would be complete without… shopping! Madison Avenue is famous for many haute couture boutiques, including Prada, Georgio Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Cartier, Calvin Klein, Jimmy Choo, Barney’s, Gucci and more. And a stop at Bloomingdale’s is a must. Here you’ll find upscale fashion, beauty, jewelry and accessories and home décor merchandise. Bloomingdale’s tagline is “Like no other store in the world.” We suggest you find out why!
How should you top off your day? With dessert, of course! Serendipity 3 gets our vote. Located on 60th Street between Second and Third Avenues, the menu does include entrees, but be sure to save room for one of Serendipity’s famous and enormous sundaes.
Of course, don’t forget your appointment with Dr. Vaiman or Dr. Kessler. But isn’t it nice to know that New York Family Dental Arts on the Upper East Side makes so many other attractions convenient, too?
